what's Rockstar actually charging for this thing

Seventy dollars, same as GTA V was at launch. They're not going to break that number—it's the console standard and they know people will pay it without blinking. The real question is whether the PC version costs the same when it eventually shows up in 2028 or whenever. They'll probably use the 'port tax' excuse and charge an extra ten, knowing full well PC players have already waited two years and just want to play. Take-Two's entire strategy lately has been 'charge what the market will bear,' and the market will absolutely bear $70 for this. Map's massive, Leonida looks dense enough to justify it, and there's zero competition in the space right now. They could charge $80 and people would still preorder. So yeah, $70 is my bet. The real robbery happens when the inevitable special edition drops for $120.

70 is fine, its the ultimate edition pricing that got me heated. 200 EUROS is absolutely criminal and thats where R* shows their hand fr. PC tax incoming is 100% happening but at that point just emulate or wait for the steam sale 💀

The Ultimate Edition pricing is genuinely indefensible though. £180 for cosmetics and some cash is textbook Rockstar greed, even by their standards.

the price discourse is wild. you will pay $70 for this game and you will love it and you will play it for ten years. that's the deal.

Ultimate Edition really is just Shark Card psychology with a nicer wrapper, isn't it.

the pc delay is what bugs me more than the price. seventy bucks is fine, but making us wait another year or two for the full experience feels calculated.
