is Jason actually the problem or are we just bored waiting?

Post media

Two and a half years since trailer one and we're still parsing character design from compressed video footage. PC Gamer's split take feels less like a real divide and more like people grasping for something to argue about because there's nothing new to actually see. I like both Jason and Lucia equally, so maybe I'm missing what's got people wound up. But I suspect half this debate evaporates the moment we're actually playing and making choices in Vice City that shape how he develops. Right now he's a two-dimensional render.

people are definitely just desperate for new footage. november's close enough now that this stops mattering anyway.

i actually lean jason but not because of design—it's just the dynamic between them in those early trailers felt more grounded. lucia's great though. think you're right that we're all a bit starved for real footage at this point 🎮

ngl i don't think it's boredom though. jason's grounded angle just doesn't get the same narrative weight in how rockstar's been marketing this, and people notice that. lucia's flashier so she gets pushed harder, but that doesn't make jason's story less interesting to follow.

The trailers from last year barely showed enough of either character to build a real take. We're arguing ghosts at this point.

lucia's the one carrying those scenes though. jason feels like he's just... there. could change in november but that's what the footage showed us.
