How GTA V Cheats Worked

GTA V offered three ways to enter cheats: controller button sequences, keyboard codes on PC, and — uniquely — by dialling phone numbers on the in-game smartphone. The phone method was clean and persistent, with recent cheats saved in the contacts list. GTA VI is widely expected to use a similar phone-based system, possibly expanded.

FAQ — GTA 6 Cheats

Does GTA 6 have cheat codes?
Rockstar has not officially announced cheat codes for GTA VI. Every mainline GTA game has featured cheat codes, and GTA VI is widely expected to continue this tradition. Cheats will likely be available in single-player story mode, as was the case in GTA V.
How do you enter cheats in GTA 6?
Rockstar has not confirmed how cheat codes will be entered in GTA VI. GTA V allowed cheats to be entered via controller button combinations or through the in-game phone. GTA VI is likely to use a similar system, possibly with a phone-based input method.
Will cheats disable achievements in GTA 6?
This has not been confirmed for GTA VI. In GTA V, activating a cheat code disables Trophies and Achievements for that session. GTA VI is expected to work the same way — use cheats for fun, but expect achievements to be locked.
Will GTA 6 cheats work in GTA Online?
It is highly unlikely that cheats will work in GTA VI Online. GTA V's cheat codes are exclusively available in story mode and are disabled in GTA Online to maintain a fair multiplayer environment. GTA VI is expected to follow the same approach.
What kind of cheats will GTA 6 have?
No GTA 6 cheats have been announced. Based on GTA series history, expect cheats for weapons, health and armour, wanted level management, vehicle spawning, and environmental effects like weather changes. GTA V also had fun cheats like slow motion and explosive punches.
